The Canon HG20 is the new product of Canon Inc. that adds up to their camcorder range. The Canon HG20 has a TFT active matrix LCD display of 2.7 inches. The camcorder uses 1/3.2 inches of CMOS type of sensor and has a sensor resolution of 3.3 megapixels. The camcorder’s effective video resolution is 2.07 megapixels. The Canon HG20 has 12x of optical zoom and 200x digital zoom and has minimum illumination of 0.2 lux. The Canon HG20 also uses optical image stabilizer and includes AVCHD digital video format. The Canon HG20 is comprised of an F/1.8-3.0 type zoom lens. The focal length of the camcorder is 4.8 mm - 57 mm. The filter size of the camcorder is 37mm and has both manual and automatic focus adjustment. The camcorder has a minimum focal range of 0.4 inches.

The camcorder has a built-in flash with a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000 seconds and includes digital photo shooting modes.
