Hitachi HV565E: Lesser Known, but still Amazing Pocket HD Camcorder

The HV565E is the HD camcorder from the house of Hitachi. It has 2.5 inch LCD screen and has a manual focus system. Depending on the SD card used, the camcorder gives a recording time of up to 200 minutes.

The pocket camcorder can be operated in three modes namely video, stills and sound recording. The type of features and settings incorporated in this camcorder is quite unexpected for a model of this price range. Three resolutions are permitted in this camcorder, VGA, 720p and 1080p and each offers quality levels of economy, standard and fine. The optical zoom and digital zoom of the Hitachi HV565E are 5.0 X and 4.0 X respectively. It has an integrated microphone and connection ports are available for A/V and USB 2.0. The overall weight of the camcorder is about 162 g and has a CMOS image sensor. The modes available for video recording range from fully automatic to user specified. A number of pre-set features are available for spotlight, landscape, portrait, sunset, beach/snow, night and sport. By default, white balance is set to automatic but the user is provided with a variety of options such as cloudy, daylight, tungsten and fluorescent 1 &2. In addition various colour modes are also provided for the user to choose from.

The Hitachi camcorder has an image stabilization mode and the images can be captured in single or continuous mode. The accessories available with the Hitachi HV565E include strap, USB cable, software, manual, AC adaptor and case.

Panasonic SDR-H81: You will never run out of Space with this Hard Disk /Memory Card Camcorder Hybrid

The SDR-H81 is the new hybrid camcorder from the family of Panasonic Corp. You can either record on its built-in hard disk or on its SD/SDHC Memory Card. Its hard disk has a larger space (60GB) than other camcorders. It has a coloured viewfinder and 2.7” LCD screen. Its compact size and light weight makes it suitable for outdoor recording. In addition to its high capacity HDD, this hybrid model also features a powerful 70X optical zoom and an advanced optical image stabilization system. This feature corrects hand shake as much as 4,000 times per second and gives a very good picture quality.

Its hard disk provides a recording time of 54 hours in the LP mode while its Memory card provides a hold up of about 26 hours. SDR-H81 has the newly implemented Intelligent Auto Mode function. Several shooting assist functions are included in the Panasonic SDR-H81, such as Advanced O.I.S, Face Detection and Intelligent Scene Selector get automatically activated when this auto mode function is used. The camcorder also features the new YouTube Uploader function that makes the task of video uploading very easy. You just have to set the camcorder to the Web Mode and the movie will now be recorded in the YouTube compatible format. Following shooting, connect the camcorder to a PC via its hi-speed 2.0 USB. This will automatically start the YouTube Uploader and your video clips will be uploaded to the video-sharing site. This relatively inexpensive HDD camcorder has another nice feature that is its stereo zoom mike which makes it perfect for capturing harder to hear sound.
